Koch Leads JWC Women’s Podium Sweep

From Winterberg, GER

(January 12, 2024) – Germany took the top four spots of the Winterberg FIL Junior World Cup stop, with Lara Koch winning by over a tenth.

Koch had a top two start in both heats, and the quickest downtime in both runs on her way to a .158 second victory over teammate Antonia Pietschmann. Alina Bräutigam won bronze, .061 back behind Pietschmann.

Melina Hänsch was the first German off of the podium in fourth, .430 behind  Koch and just over .2 out of the medals. Austria’s Tersa Kirchmair finished fifth.

The United States’ women saw Winterberg for the first time. Brianna Gosnell led the way in 11th, with Sophia Gordon in 12th and Macey Schomaker 13th.
