From Durham, USA
(February 2, 2025) – The Para Sport World Cup concluded on February first after an eight-race schedule that leaned heavily on the track in Lillehammer. The tour held its first of eight races on he Norwegian track before holding the final two events in Sigulda.
Corie Mapp won his second straight season title, and third overall, despite a strong finish by Jonas Frei of Switzerland. Frei, the 2021/2022 season champion, struggled to find consistency in Lillehammer but came on strong in Sigulda with victories in both of the final two races.
Frei’s two victories were enough, however, to catapult him ahead of Austria’s Hermann Ellmauer, who finished in the top three for the first time of his career.
Latvia’s Arturs Klots didn’t have the finishes he’d hoped for in Sigulda and finished the season in fourth, with the United States’ Guillermo Castillo finishing the year in fifth with one win in Lillehammer.
