From Winterberg, GER
(February 23, 2025) – Maxmilian Illmann once again won gold in Winterberg to give him three golds over the race weekend.
Illmann’s crew once again gave him top three starts in both heats, and Illmann was once again nearly untouchable as he led a German sweep of the top four spots.
The lead wasn’t terribly large at first, with Illmann only .06 ahead of teammate Laurin Zern, with Alexander Czudaj also lingering around the top of the time sheet in third, just .19 back.
But the second run for Illmann was also the quickest of the competition as he led his team to a .19 second two-run victory over Zern, with Czudaj back in third, .39 back.
Hans Peter Hannighofer was fourth, .57 back as the fourth and final German sled in the race.
Matej Behounek put together his best pair of runs of the season on his way to a fifth place effort, while Dave Wesselink was sixth
