From Park City, USA
(November 28, 2025) – Nicole Burger won the first gold medal of her relatively short career in Park City in the third race of the North American Cup women’s skeleton calendar.
Burger held a sizable lead over the United States’ Liesel Baker, herself looking for her first career gold. Puerto Rico’s Kellie Delka sat third, well behind Burger’s outstanding first effort.
In the second heat there weren’t many surprises. The field entirely held their spots, with Delka edging out Finland’s Hannah Russwurm to move into the medals.
Baker was next, and put down the quickest run of the second heat to take the lead and attempt to put the pressure on Burger.
But the South African would not be denied. Burger backed up her race-quickest start in the first heat with another quick start and a slide that wasn’t quite as fast as Baker’s second effort but was more than enough to slide to gold, her second straight medal.
Baker won her first career medal with a silver, and Delka bronze.
Russwurm finished fourth, .06 out of the medals. The US Virgin Islands’ Katie Tannenbaum was fifth and Grace Otto sixth.
Logan Wudi made her return to North American Cup action in ninth, with Lani Huyke 14th.
For the Canadians, Emily Bateman led the way in tenth, one spot ahead of Malta’s Shannon Galea in 11th. Julia Hamilton, Indy Dorscheid, and Madeline Parra were 15th to 17th, respectively.
