Pitter Continues Golden Streak With Park City Gold

From Park City, USA

(December 1, 2025) – It took nearly 37 years for Jamaica to win a gold medal in bobsledding at any level, and now that they’ve won one they haven’t stopped.

Shane Pitter won his second straight two-man gold medal and third between two-man and four-man as he edged out Jay Dearborn and Axel Brown on Monday.

Pitter and Joel Fearon were once again quick off the top, with the duo setting the quick start time in the second heat. They entered that second heat just .03 behind Canada’s Dearborn and Shane Ohrt and slid to the lead ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Axel Brown and de Aundre John.

Dearborn and Ohrt matched Pitter and Fearon’s time off the top, but found themselves behind early in their run. The Canadians couldn’t match the Jamaican’s speed at the bottom of the track and crossed the finish line in second place, tied with Brown and John for silver, giving the win to the Jamaicans.

Not only was the gold for Fearon his third straight, but it was his fifth straight medal between two-man and four-man bobsled.

Brown’s silver was the best ever finish for Trinidad and Tobago in a sliding sport. He’d previously finished third in four-man competition in Park City during the 2022/2023 NAC season.

Brazil’s Edson Bindilatti and Edson Martins finished fourth, just .13 out of the medals, with Koki Matsuoka and Yuta Kato fifth and Canadians Cyrus Gray and Kenny M’Pindou rounding out the top six.

Grady Mercer was the top American in Park City. He and Dylan Gilbert slid to a tie for seventh with Israels’ AJ Edelaman and Dominik Zalesky. The team of Jace Johnson and Kyle Lewis was 12th, Shane Fisher and Otto Zaccardo 16th and John Ellridge III and Ben Pelger 18th.

Canadian rookies Justin Tremblay and Kyle Stoob Garcia were 13th.

At the halfway point of the 2025/2026 North American Cup season, Jay Dearborn holds a 48 point lead over Shane Pitter, with Edson Bindilatti third. Axel Brown, Grady Mercer, and AJ Edelman round out the top six.
