From Pyeongchang, KOR
(December 18, 2025) – Like in the women’s race, Chanhyuk Yeo went wire-to-wire in the men’s skeleton race as he took gold from the first starting spot in the competition.
Yeo’s time of 50.71 in the first heat was the quickest of the heat by nearly .3 ahead of Olympic bronze medalist Wengang Yan, with Guoqing Yu over a half of a second off of Yeo’s pace.
In the second heat, Yeonsu Shin slid to the lead ahead of Australia’s Nick Timmings, who has been consistently the top non-Asian slider in Asian Cup racing. Shin then held that lead as Gu struggled on the bottom half of the track.
Yan was next and, like Yu, had problems late in his run to drop him behind Shin but into the medals with no worse than a bronze.
Yeo was the final slider off the top. His form matched his first heat’s form as he was .27 quicker than anyone else in the heat and won by well over a full second ahead of teammate Shin, with Yan third.
Yu, Timmings, and Ruojun Zheng rounded out the top six.
Great Britain’s Laurence Bostocck finished tied for eighth with Canada’s Ryan Kuehn, while teammate Matthew Alverez finished 16th.
Canadians Josip Brusic and Kyle Donsberger were 23rd and 24th as they got second runs, while Brayden Posyluzny and Dion Charles were 27th and 30th.
