From Lake Placid, USA
(December 19, 2025) – The weather in Lake Placid took a turn on Friday with heavy rain and high winds earlier in the day. The rain eventually turned to snow, but with high winds still expected the track and conditions still in the air due to the drastic changes in weather, the International Luge Federation made the decision to move the men’s and women’s doubles races to Saturday.
The postponement was in part to give the track crew time to prepare the track properly.
Women’s luge is still scheduled for Friday evening, 6:30 PM for the first run.
