From Sigulda, LAT
(December 20, 2025) – After being shut out in double four-man bobsled in Lillehammer, Francesco Friedrich took the first of two two-man races in Sigulda.

Friedrich and Alexander Schüller outstarted the field in the first heat and slid to a .15 second advantage over teammates Johannes Lochner and Thorsten Margis, with Adam Ammour and Benedikt Hertel in third as part of a German one-two-three after one run.
In the second heat, Michael Vogt and Andreas Haas put down a strong run to take the lead from Patrick Baumgartner, then held that spot as neither Markus Treichl or Frank Del Duca could match his pace.
Ammour’s second start was a tick quicker, and while his second run was only sixth quickest of the heat, he still had enough in the bank from his first run to take the lead from the Swiss pilot.
Lochner was next, and took the lead from Ammour handily with only Friedrich to go.
Freidrich and Schüller picked up their start by a hundredth, and like in the first heat had the quick split all the way down the Latvian track on their way to a .23 second victory over Lochner, with Ammour back in third.
Friedrich’s gold was the 52nd of his World Cup two-man career and 87th two-man World Cup medal overall. Lochner’s silver was his 52nd medal in two-man.
Vogt took fourth, Del Duca and Josh Williamson slid to fifth place, just ahead of Markus Treichl and Sascha Stepan in sixth.
Geoff Gadbois and Quinten Arello finished 18th, tied with Austria’s Jakob Mandlbauer and Dominik Handschitz.
Canada’s Taylor Austin and Keaton Bruggeling were 21th, with Pat Norton and Luka Stoikos 23rd.
