From Winterberg, GER
(December 21, 2025) – Charlotte Candrix once again took gold alongside Lena Brunnhübner, but this time had to edge out Poland’s Linda Weiszewski to do so.
Candrix took the lead from Weiszewski and brakewoman Klaudia Adamek in the first heat by just .01, with Germany’s Leona Klein and Lena Neunecker in third, .25 back.
The second heat saw Klein move into the lead handily ahead of Italy’s Giada Andreutti and Alessia Gatti, but was quickly picked off by Weszewski who was a tick slower in the second heat but had a first run that was good enough to keep her ahead of the German.
Candrix, the star of the 2025/2026 Europe Cup season thus far, pushed off in the second heat and nearly matched her first heat time as she slid to a .18 second victory over Weiszewski, with Klein third.
The win was Candrix’s fifth straight, with Weiszewski scoring a season-best silver and Klein her fourth medal in five races.
Andreutti was fourth, ahead of Germany’s Diana Filipszki and Carolin Kupsch in fifth. Belgium’s Kelly Van Petegem and Jienity De Kler rounded out the top six.
USA’s Lauren Brzozowski and Lolo Jones had a pair of strong pushes on the way to a 12th place finish as the top North American sled, one spot ahead of Canada’s Erica Voss and Ariane Chiasson.
After five races in the Europe Cup two-woman season, Candrix leads Klein, with Andreutti third ahead of teammate Simona De Silvestro and Aussie Sarah Blizzard. Lauren Brzozowski is sixth.
