From Lake Placid, USA
(January 3, 2026) – Gracy Mercer and Adrian Adams slid to gold in the sixth race of the North American Cup season, Mercer’s first.
Mercer drove the duo to a .17 second advantage over Brazil’s Edson Bindilatti and Rafael Souza da Silva, wtth Canada’s Jay Dearborn and Chris Holmstead third, only .02 behind the Brazilians.
In the second heat, Dearborn drove to the lead ahead of Gustavo dos Santos Ferreria and Luis Bacca Goncalves, and then held that lead as he edged out Bindilatti by .06 over two heats.
Mercer, for the first time in his career, pushed off as the last sled off the top. He and Adams had a solid start, and Mercer put down a drive that was good enough to hold back the Canadians by .1 on his way to his first career win, with Dearborn silver and Bindilatti bronze.
Dos Santos FGerreira was fourth, Australia’s Cam Scott and James Van Dyk fifth, with Trinidad and Tobago’s Axel Brown and Shakeel John sixth.
Canada’s Cyrus Gray and Kenny M’Pindou slid to seventh.
With two races to go in the North American Cup two-man season, Jay Dearborn leads Gracy Mercer, with Edson Bindilatti third. Axel Brown and Shane Pitter round out the top five.
