From Lake Placid, USA
(January 10, 2026) – Bianca Ribi’s outstanding women’s monobob season continued in Lake Placid with another dominating victory over South Korea’s Yooran Kim.
Kim took an early lead from Taiwan’s Sin-Rong Lin and held that lead for five sleds until Ribi’s first effort, as the Canadian slid to a .18 second advantage.
The second heat saw Lin move up the leaderboard from fifth place, picking off Viktoria Cernanska and Erica Voss in the process. That moved her into the medals with just Kim and Ribi to go.
Kim, who has been consistent throughout the 2025/2026 season, slid to another medal as she edged out Lin by .15 with only Ribi still to go.
But Ribi would not be denied another gold. Her start was .16 quicker than Kim’s, and her slide nearly matched her first effort on her way to a .61 second victory over Kim, with Lin third.
Ribi’s gold was her sixth straight and seventh straight medal in seven races.
Kim’s silver was a season best finish, with no finish outside of the top five, while Lin’s bronze gave her five medals in seven races with one race still to go.
Voss took fourth, Cernanska fifth, and Spain’s Leanna Garcia a season’s best sixth place finish.
With one race to go in the North American Cup monobob season, Bianca Ribi holds a commanding lead over Sin-Rong in, with Erica Voss, Yooran Kim, and Mica Moore rounding out the top five.
