(January 25, 2026) – Bree Walker won her final tune-up prior to the 2026 Olympic Games as she edged out the previous day’s monobob winner for gold.
Walker and brakewoman Kiara Reddingius slid to a .19 second advantage over Candrix and Anabel Galander after the first heat, with Germany’s Leona Klein and Jana Vollmer back in third, nearly a quarter of a second back. The remainder of the field was at least .9 back, leaving it a three sled race for gold.
The second heat saw Klein slide to the lead handily ahead of Czechia’s Patricia Tajcnarova and Kristyna Migova, but quickly lose it to Candrix, who threw down a big second run to take a .27 advantage.
Walker and Reddingus were out-started by .05 off the top, and while their second slide was off of Candrix’s blistering pace, Walker drove them to gold by .04, with Candrix silver and Klein bronze.
Tajcnarova was fourth, Canada’s Erica Voss and Brynn McNabb fifth, and Selina Isler and Isabelle Kaufmann sixth.
Candrix took the season title ahead of Klein, with Giada Andreutti and Simona de Silvestro third and fourth despite missing the final race of the season.
