2014/2015 FIBT World Cup – Women’s Bobsled – Race 1

The dominance of women’s bobsled by the North Americans continued into the start of the 2014/2015 FIBT season in Lake Placid.  The United States swept the podium, with the team of Elana Meyers Taylor and Cherrelle Garrett set a new push record at the top and a new track record at the bottom of the Mount Van Hoevenberg track.  Meyers Taylor and Garrett beat teammates Fenlator and DeRatt by over a full second to take gold, while Fenlator took silver, while Jamie Greubel Poser and Lauren Gibbs took bronze.

German Anja Schneiderheinze took fourth for Germany, while Olympic gold medalist Kaillie Humphries finished fifth.  British pilots Victoria Oloaye and Mica McNeill took eighth and ninth, respectively.
