Koplin Wins North American Cup Women’s Bobsled Race 4

From Calgary, CAN

(Nov. 15, 2017) What a difference a day makes. One day after being edged out of a gold medal in women’s bobsled, American Kristi Koplin came back strong to dominate an otherwise competitive women’s bobsled field.

Koplin and brakewoman Nicole Brundgardt were the best off the top of Winsport, and had by far the two best drives of the afternoon on their way to a gold medal, .88 ahead of Korea’s Yooran Kim.

Kim had the second quickest time in both heats, and was able to hold off China’s Qing Ying for silver, while Ying took bronze.

Nicole Vogt just missed a medal in fourth place, while former American pilot Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian finished fifth, .02 ahead of Canada’s Julie Johnson.

Rachel Hauck finished eighth for Canada, while teammates Melissa Lowe and Kori Hol finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
