Krumina Becomes First Women to Win Para Bobsled Gold

(Nov. 24, 2017) Annija Krumina became the first woman to win in the Para Bobsled World Cup in the second race of the season.

The Latvian was the quickest in both heats on her way to a .45 second advantage over countryman Alvils Brants, who finished second.

Race 1 winner, Jason Sturm of the United States, finished third after coming into his second run in fifth place.

Lonnie Bissonnette of Canada finished fourth, ahead of Great Britain’s Corie Mapp and the United States’ Barry Schroeder, who finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Joshua Merryman finished eighth, while Dawn Macomber finished 11th to round out the American effort. Darryl Tait finished tenth.
