(Dec. 1, 2017) Swiss slider Christopher Stewart became the third IBSF Para Bobsled World Cup winner in three races, winning in Lake Placid.
Stewart came into his second run just .08 behind Corie Mapp of Great Britain. Stewart was flawless on that second run, putting the pressure on Mapp. Mapp’s answer was not enough, only mustering the fourth fastest run on his way to a silver medal. The margin of victory was .47.
Canadian Lonnie Bissonnette finished third, with American Barry Schroeder missing his first medal of the season by .09 in fourth. Race 2 winner Annija Krumina of Latvia finished fifth, while Dawn Macomber finished a season-best sixth.
Jason Strum struggled to find the speed he had in Calgary, moving up from ninth to seventh in his second run., while Dave Nicholls made his first start of the season finishing tenth. Lee Kuxhaus finished out the American effort in 12th.
