Vogt Wins Second NAC Race in a Row

From Lake Placid, USA

(Jan. 11, 2018) Nicole Vogt won her second North American Cup race in a row, and third medal in as many tries, all while moving into the women’s bobsled point lead in the process.

The American came into the second run tied with teammate Kristi Koplin for the lead. On her second run, Vogt was just a little better, giving her the win over Koplin.

Koplin and brakewoman Kyle Plante had the fastest start in both heats on their way to a silver medal.

Korean Yooran Kim, who came into the day as the point leader, finished third. Her bronze medal run, coupled with Vogt’s win, propelled Vogt into the leader’s position with one race to go on the North American Cup season.

Kim’s teammate, Seonhye Lee, finished fourth, ahead of Qing Ying of China and Canada’s Julie Johnson.

Rachel Hauck finished seventh and Kori Hol ninth to round out the Canadian effort.
