Wesenberg Wins NAC Gold in Whistler

(Nov. 8, 2018) – Kendall Wesenberg won her first IBSF international race in nearly four years, edging out teammate Savannah Graybill in the process.

Wesenberg trialed Graybill by .06 heading into the seecond heat. While Wesenberg put down a time nearly identical to her first run, Graybill came down .3 slower, falling to the silver medal.

The gold medal for Wesenberg was the first since the European Cup in Lillehammer in late November, 2014.

Canada took the next three spots, with Race 1 winner Lanette Prediger taking bronze, ahead of teammates Jaclyn LaBerge and Madi Charney, who finished fourth and fifth.

Chinese slider Chenfeng Long rounded out the top six.

Kelly Curtis finished ninth, while Kristen Hurley finished 12th to round out the American effort, while Canadian Janelle Khan-Nielsen finished 12th as the fourth Canadian slider.

Leslie Stratton finished seventh for Sweden, while Race 1 winner Yulia Kanakina did not start.
