(Dec. 7, 2018) – More times than not, German Janine Becker has been on the European Cup podium. What she hadn’t done is won gold, until Friday.
Becker was the quickest in both heats on her way to a .33 second victory over British slider Ashleigh Pittaway, with teammates Hannah Neise, Luisa Hornung and Josefa Schellmoser finishing third through fifth.
Jackie Narracott rounded out the top six with a sixth place finish.
Becker’s gold was her 15th European Cup medal in 16 attempts.
Samantha Culiver McQuade finished tied for 12th for the United States.
