Nolte Wins First EC Gold

From Winterberg, GER

(Jan. 5, 2019) – Laura Nolte has had a brief but good career in the IBSF European Cup tour, scoring medals in six of her 12 races on the tour along with a silver medal in the 2018 Junior World Championships. The gold medal, however, had eluded her, until Race 4 of the 2018/2019 European Cup season.

Nolte was the quickest off the top in both heats by over a tenth of a second, as well as the quickest at every split on her way to a .66 second victory over Andreea Grecu.

The podium was filled with career bests. Grecu scored a career best EC finish with a silver medal, while Australia’s Breeana Walker won bronze for her first ever European Cup medal.

Alena Osipenko of Russia, Germany’s Anne Lobenstein, and Swiss pilot Eveline Rebsamen rounded out the top six.
