Curtis Wins in First Career ICC Race

From Park City, USA

(Jan. 19, 2019) – Kelly Curtis won the 2018/2019 IBSF North American Cup season title, scoring two wins along the way. US Bobsled & Skeleton gave her the start in the Park City Intercontinental Cup race, and Curtis showed showed the same form she showed in NAC on her way to victory.

In a one-heat race due to heavy snow the day prior, Curtis edged out German Susanne Kreher by .04. Kreher, in turn, edged out Czech slider Anna Fernstädt by the same amount for silver. Fernstädt finished bronze in her first ever race in Park City.

Russian Anastasia Shlapak finished fourth, ahead of Ashleigh Pittaway of Great Britain and American Megan Henry. Swedish slider Leslie Stratton finished just outside of the top six in seventh.

Madi Charney led the way for Canada, tied for 12th with Great Britain’s Brogan Crowley. Lanette Prediger finished 14th and Jaclyn LaBerge 16th.

Samantha Culiver McQuade finished 17th for the United States.
