Humphries Returns to Top of Podium in Lake Placid

From Lake Placid, USA

Nov. 20, 2019 – Kaillie Humphries has always been been great in Lake Placid. Beginning with a bronze medal run in her second race on the track back in 2007, and continuing with a myriad of gold medal runs, Humphries has been as good in Lake Placid as anyone.

She returned to gold medal form in the second North American Cup race of the season, beating the field by over a half of a second on her way to victory.

Humphries opened up a sizable lead in her first run over former Canadian teammate Christine de Bruin and current American teammate Brittany Reinbolt. She added to that lead on the second trip down, setting the quick time in both heats on her way to a .54 second victory.

de Bruin, the NAC Race 1 winner, finished second, moving up from third after the first heat, while Reinbolt finished third.

Kristi Koplin finished fourth for the United States, while Martina Fontanive finished fifth and Melissa Lotholz sixth.

Kori Hol rounded out a solid showing for the Canadians in seventh, while Shelby Williamson finished 11th for the United States.

Ashleigh Werner finished 12th in the lone Australian sled.
