Vogt Sweeps Lake Placid NAC Stop, Hol Wins NAC Title

From Lake Placid, USA

Jan. 7, 2020 – NIcole Vogt won her third North American Cup in as many tries in Lake Placid, cruising to victory in the season finale.

Vogt set the fast time of the race in the first heat to open up a .23 second advantage on the field. On the second run, Canada’s Kori Hol put down a quick run to move into the lead with only Vogt to go. While Vogt couldn’t match Hol’s second heat time, her first run advantage was enough to hold onto the win.

Hol finished second, with teammate Cynthia Appiah tying a career-best as a women’s bobsled pilot with a third place finish.

American Shelby Williamson tied a career-best with a fourth place rn, while Bianca Ribi and Melissa Lotholz finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Kori Hol finished the season as the IBSF North American Cup women’s bobsled champion, finishing just ahead of the United States’ Kristi Koplin. Shelby Williamson finished third overall.
