Lanthaler Stays Perfect on the Season

Jan. 12, 2020 – Evelin Lanthaler stayed perfect on the 2019/2020 season, cruising to a one second victory in Passeiertal.

The Italian set the fastest time of the race in the first run to open up a .83 second lead on teammate Greta Pinggera. On the second run, Lanthaler still had no competition, putting down a time .15 faster than Tina Unterberger to cruise to a one second victory over the Austrian.

Unterberger jumped up from third to second in the second heat, setting the fastest run of the day by someone not named “Lanthaler”, while Michelle Diepold won her first bronze medal since the 2017/2018 season.

Pinggera struggled to keep pace on her second run and fell to fourth, .01 behind Diepold.

Ekaterina Lavrenteva finished fifth, just ahead of Daniela Mittermair, who rounded out the top six.
