The race was a close one after the first heat. Germany’s Laura Nolte and Canada’s Christine de Bruin came into the second heat tied for the lead, while Kati Beierl and Stephenie Schneider were tied for fourth. In between those ties, American Kaillie Humphries sat third going into the second run.

On that second run, Kaillie Humphries put down the fastest run of the day to move into the leader’s box with only de Bruin and Nolte to go. Neither woman could match Humphries’ drive, de Bruin fell to fourth on her second run while Nolte fell .03 short of Humphries time for the top spot of the podium, giving the American the win.

The win for Humphries was her third of the season and fourth in Königssee. The silver for Nolte was her fourth medal in four career IBSF World Cup races and 11th straight medal between World Cup and European Cup races.

Stephanie Schneider finished third, .06 behind her German teammate, while de Bruin, Beierl, and Jamanka rounded out the top six.

Kaillie Humphries leaves Königssee the World Cup leader, 48 points ahead of Schneider. Mariama Jamanka is third, with de Bruin, Nadezhda Sergeeva, and Kati Beierl rounding out the top six.

Mica McNeill missed the race in Igls due to sickness, but came back in Königssee to finish 12th.
