Votz Wins First Career IBSF Gold in Sigulda

(Dec. 19, 2020) – Stefanie Vogtz won her first career IBSF gold medal with a European Cup win in Sigulda.

The German junior had the fast run in both heats on her way to a .68 second victory over Latvia’s Darta Zunte.

The gold medal is her third straight medal to start the season.

Behind her Zutne held off Great Britain’s Rachel Hanigan for silver, while Hanigan took bronze.

Russia’s Polina Tiurina an Anasthasia Tsyganova finished fourth and fifth, while Julia Simmchen of Germany rounded out the top six.

Liechtenstein’s Katharina Eigenmann finished 13th.
