Jan. 16, 2021 – Axel Jungk won gold in his first race back form knee surgery, beating out Alexander Tretiakov for the top spot.
Jungk set the two fastest times of the race on his way to nearly a half second victory over Tretiakov. The win for Jungk came in his first ICC start since the 2012/2013 season. He has two gold medals and nine top sixes in his ten ICC starts.
Tretiakov’s silver medal came in his first ICC race since the 2015/2016 season. he has never finished outside of the top two in ICC action.
Germany’s Felix Seibel finished third, just .02 ahead of teammate Kilian von Schleinitz in fourth. Nikita Tregubov and Italy’s Mattia Gaspari rounded out the top six.
Ben Fulker finished eighth as the top British slider in the field. Teammate Jacob Salisbury
finished 11th.
For the United States, Andrew Blaser finished 13th in his first ICC race outside of the United States. Hunter Williams finished 16th in his first ever ICC start.
