Austin Wins 4-Man Finale, Season Title

(December 20, 2021) – Taylor Austin and his crew cruised to victory in the North American Cup four-man bobsled season finale, winning over a pair of strong American contenders to clinch the NAC four-man title.

Austin opened up a .24 lead over Tyler Hickey, with Frank Del Duca only .03 behind Hickey.

On the second run Del Duca was able to leapfrog Hickey to move into second place with Austin to go. Austin’s team pushed him to a heat-fastest start, and Austin led at ever split on his way to a .47 second victory over Del Duca, who won silver. Hickey sat just back in third, .01 behind Del Duca.

Austin’s victory clinched his four-man title, as well as the men’s combined bobsled title, with the latter only being by two points. Frank Del Duca finished the season in second in both points races, while Tyler Hickey and Youngjin Suk finished third in the four-man and overall competitions, respectively.
