Vogt Wins NAC 2-Woman Finale, Reinbolt Wins Title

From Lake Placid, USA

(December 20, 2021) – Americans Nicole Vogt and Emily Renna edged out Aussies Ashleigh Werner and Tia-Clair Toomey to win gold in the final North American Cup two-woman  bobsled race of the 20201/2022 season.

Werner carried a .16 second advantage over Vogt going into the second heat of the competition. On that second run Vogt set a a time that was .1 faster than anyone else on that run. Werner’s second run was only fourth quickest, .18 slower than Vogt, and not enough to hold her lead.

At the end of the race the margin of victory was just .02. The win for Vogt was her third straight, while the silver for Werner was her sixth straight between two-woman and monobob.

The United States’ Brittany Reinbolt finished in third, well ahead of Jamaica’s Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian in fourth. Canadians Alysia Rissling and Bianca Ribi rounded out the top six.

Reinbolt’s bronze was enough to clinch the two-woman bobsled North American Cup title over Alysia Rissling. Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian finished the season in third.
