Melissa Hoar takes the top spot in the seventh round of the America’s Cup with two of the three fastest times on the day. The Australian was the only slider with a combined time under 1:55.00, and her first time of 57.20 was unmatched by a full three tenths overall.
Canadian Randee Brookes takes silver with two consistent runs despite mid-pack pushes. British slider Laura Deas takes bronze. Her second run was fastest of the heat, and her starts were consistently quicker than everyone else atop Mount Van Hoevenberg.
Americans peppered the rest of the top 10, with Megan Henry, Meghan Sullivan, Lauren Salter and Veronica Day finishing 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The Canadian team also finished strong, with Brookes’ silver leading teammates Carli Brockway, Amanda Ruller and Alaina Marlatt in 5th, 10th and 11th.
