From Winterberg, GER
(November 27, 2022) – Jacqueline Lölling won her second straight Intercontinental Cup race in Winterberg, once again winning decisively.
Lölling once again put down the two quickest runs of the race, this time winning by .5 over teammate Corinna Leipold to win her second straight gold and fourth straight medal to start the ICC season.
Leipold finished second for her second straight race. She entered the second heat .2 behind Lölling, and while she lost another .3 on the second run she was well ahead of anyone else behind her.
Great Britain’s Amelia Coltman finished third on the strength of two solid starts off the top. The bronze was her first ever ICC medal in her 12th start. She’s also won five medals (including two golds) in eight European Cup starts.
Sarah Wimmer helped put three Germans in the top four, .25 out of the medals. Belgium’s Aline Pelckmans finished fifth for her best ever finish in a senior-level race. Pelckmans had previously won an under-20 junior world championships bronze medal.
The United States’ Mystique Ro finished sixth on the strength of the two strongest starts of the race. She has yet to finish out of the top six this season.
Liechtenstein’s Katharina Eigenmann finished with a career-best ninth place finish, while USA’s Michelle Toukan finished 12th, up from 13th in the first heat.
