Latvia Goes 1-2 In Second Lillehammer JWC Women’s Doubles Race

(December 2, 2022) – Viktorija Ziedina and Selina Zvilna beat out teammates Marta Robezniece and Kitija Bogdanova to win their first gold of the women’s doubles season.

Ziedina and Zvilna had the two quickest starts of the competition, and cruised to a big lead in the first heat. Their second run was a little bumper, and despite their teammates setting the fast run of the race in their second heat, Ziedina and Svilna took gold by .115.

Robezniece and Bogdanova jumped up from fifth to win silver, while Austria’s Lina Riedl and Anna Lerch finished third, falling from second after the first heat.

Germany’s Elisa Storch and Nina Reithmayer finished fourth, while Czechian teams Marketa Novakova and Anna Vejdelkova, and Anna Cezikova and Lucie Jansova finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
