From Park City, USA
(December 12, 2023) – Jinsu Kim won his first IBSF North American Cup gold medal of the 2023/2024 season, as he cruised to victory in Park City.
Kim and brakeman Sunwook Kim had the two quickest starts of the race, and backed them up with the two quickest runs of the competition on their way to a .56 second victory over Canada’s Pat Norton and Mike Evelyn.
The gold for Jinsu Kim was the first of his season, and fifth overall in the North American Cup ranks.
For Norton and Evelyn, the silver was their best finish of the 2023/2024 season.
Taylor Austin and Shane Ohrt finished in third, .78 back for their best finish of the year.
The United States’ Kris Horn and Adrian Adams finished in fourth, just .13 out of the medals.
South Korea’s Hyeonggeun Kim and Suhyun Chun finished fourth, with Israel’s AJ Edelman and Ori Magnezi rounding out the top six.
Canada’s Jay Dearborn made his first start of the season and finished seventh, with teammate Cyrus Gray in ninth.
The United States placed two sleds in the top ten with Grady Mercer in eighth. Shane Fisher just missed out of a top ten in 12th.
