(November 28, 2025) – China’s Siji Song put down the two quickest runs of the competition on Friday on her way to her second straight gold medal to start the 2025/2026 Europe Cup season.
It wasn’t exactly a cakewalk. Song led Germany’s Viktoria Hansova by just .03 after the first heat, with USA’s Michelle Toukan in third just .09 off of the pace set by Song.
Toukan solidified her first medal of the season with a second run that edged out Latvia’s Marta Andzane by .03 for the lead with Hansova and Song still to go.
Hansova went next, and slid to a .3 advantage over the American to guarantee her second straight medal, at least a silver.
Song was the final slider off the top. Her second push was over a tenth quicker, and that effort was part of a heat-quickest slide on her way to a .17 second victory over Hansova.
Song and Hansova’s medals were their second straight one-two to start the season.
Andzane was fourth, Yanqi Zhu fifth, and Anna Saulite sixth.
Great Britain’s Ashlyn Bland was tenth, joined by Leah Kidd in the top 20 in 19th place. Regan Walker was 24th as the third British slider.
USA’s Sha’Londa Terry was 27th.
