Stoecker & Wyatt Slide to Mixed Team Gold

From Lillehammer, NOR

(December 12, 2025) – Great Britain’s Tabitha Stoecker and Marcus Wyatt slid to gold in Lillehammer to finish out the skeleton portion of the IBSF World Cup stop in Norway.

The race kicked off with the United States’ Sara Roderick and Nick Tucker taking to the ice. The duo both put down a pair of clean runs, and their combined time stood for a handful of sleds until Italy’s Valentina Margaglio and Giovanni Marchetti edged out the Americans by a combined .13 to take the lead.

The Italian duo only held their spot for about three minutes however, as the United States’ Mystique Ro and Austin Florian slid to a solid lead. The American duo  had the second (Ro) and first (Florian) quickest starts of the competition and that plus two outstanding slides put them well ahead of anyone else to that point.

And for a while, that’s just where things stood. There were 6 more teams to go, including strong slides by Great Britain’s Freya Tarbit and Jacob Salisbury, until the Americans were eventually picked off by Tarbit and Salisbury’s teammates, Tabitha Stoecker and Marcus Wyatt. Like Ro and Florian, the Brits each had top two starts on top of a quick reaction time and great slide to move ahead of the Americans by .56.

After China’s Yuxi Li and Qinwei Lin slid in just behind Fumagalli and Gaspari, Germany’s Jacqueline Pfeifer and Axel Jungk took their shots at the Brits. Pfeifer found herself just behind Ro, and though Jungk put down what would be the second quickest time for the men, the duo fell behind the Americans by .02 with two teams to go.

After the Austrian team of Annia Unterscheider and Samuel Maier came up short in their attempt, the second Germany team of Hannah Neise and Felix Keisinger took to the ice as the last team off.

But the Germans were done nearly as soon as they started. Hannah Neise took off far too early and got hit with a penalty of over one second, immediately sinking the team, as they finished 12th.

That gave the win to Stoecker and Wyatt, Stoecker’s third and Wyatt’s four gold in the event. Neither athlete has ever lost a World Cup Mixed Team event.

For Ro and Florian, their silver medal was Ro’s second in the event and Florian’s third. Pfeifer and Jungk, the bronze medal was their fourth medal each in the event.

After two of five Mixed Team races, Great Britain leads Germany, the United States, and Italy in the season standings.
