From Pyeongchang, KOR
(December 14, 2025) – The United States’ Katie Uhlaender slid to gold in the second race of the 2025/2026 Asian Cup season, edging out Yuxin Liang for the top spot.
The American entered the second heat tied with Liang, with Yerim Kim and Siji Song in third and fourth. Sujung Hong slid to the lead from fifth place, and moved up one spot as Yerim Kim couldn’t outslide either Song or Hong.
Uhlaender was next, and slid to the lead by .16 ahead of Song with just Liang to go.
Liang, the season opening race winner out-started Uhlaender by .35 but came back to the American all the way through her run. At the end, it was Uhlaender taking the win by .03 over Liang, with Song bronze.
Sujung Hong, Yerim Kim, and Yangqi Zhu rounded out the top six.
Great Britain’s Ashlyn Bland was seventh, while Israel’s Elizabeth Swaney was 22nd, 15.28 seconds off of Uhlaender’s gold medal pacel.
