From Pyeongchang, KOR
(December 19, 2025) – Sujung Hong went back-to-back in Pyeongchang with a dominant performance on home ice for gold.
The United States’ Katie Uhlaender went off second in the first heat, and her downtime was good enough to hold the lead through Hong, who then put down a monster first run to take the lead by .67, with Great Britain’s Ashlyn Bland and China’s Siji Song both lingering around Uhlaender but otherwise well outside of the lead.
Song out-slid Bland in the second heat to move into the lead, but was quickly unseated by Uhlaender, who secured another medal in Pyeongchang with her saecond run.
Hong’s second effort was significantly slower than her first. However, it was still quicker than anyone else’s as the Korean was the only slider t0 slide under 53 seconds on her way to a .83 second victory over Uhlaender, with Song over a full second back in third.
Bland took fourth, Yerim Kim fifth, and Yuxin Liang sixth.
Canada’s Grace Dafoe was 13th, up from 14th in the first heat. teammate Emily Bateman was 20th.
At the halfway point of the 2025/2026 Asian Cup season, Sujung Hong leads Yuxin Liang, with Katie Uhlaender third, Siji Song fourth, and Ashlyn Bland fifth.
