From Lake Placid, USA
(January 2, 2026) – Bianca Ribi slid to another gold in women’s monobob action, this time holding off Taiwan’s Sin-Rong Lin for the top spot on the podium.
Ribi and Lin were tied after the first heat, with Canada’s Erica Voss in third. Voss took the lead in the second heat ahead of South Korea’s Yooran Kim, but was quickly bumped out by Lin.
Ribi’s second start was a hundredth of a second ahead of Lin’s, giving her a very small advantage off the top. But Ribi’s experience was enough to put her ahead by the time she got to the labyrinth and never looked back on her way to her fourth straight NAC monobob gold.
Silver for Lin was a career best, while Voss’s bronze was her fourth monobob medal in five races.
Kim took fourth, Slovakia’s Viktoria Cernanska fifth, and Jamaica’s Mica Moore sixth, .06 ahead of Spain’s Leanna Garcia in seventh.
