Lambacher & Lambacher Win Passeiertal Gold

From Passeiertal, ITA

(January 3, 2026) – Matthias and Peter Lambacher slid to gold in a sparsely attended Alpine Luge race in Passeiertal.

Gabrial and Samuel Halcin were the first team off of the three team race, but were quickly picked off by the Lambacher boys.

Tobias Paur and Andreas Hofer were the last team off. Their start was a tenth behind that of the Lambachers, and their pace just a bit off as they finished .7 behind their Italian teammates for silver, with the Lambachers golden and the Halcins bronze.

“It feels good to be back on track after the problems in Winterleiten,” Matthias Lambacher told the media after the race. The win is nice, but even better was our run time. We can be very satisfied with that.”

Maxmilian Pichler and Nico Edlinger, the World Cup leaders coming into the race, missed the race due to an injury to Pichler’s hand.

After three races in the World Cup season, Lambacher and Lambacher lead Paur and Hofer by five points, with Halcin and Halcin third, 45 points out of the lead. Pichler and Edlinger sit tied with Halcin and Halcin despite missing the race in Passeiertal.
