From Lake Placid, USA
(January 11, 2026) – Katie Uhlaender once again cruised to victory in Lake Placid, upending Nicole Burger by well over a half of a second.
The 2012 world champion opened up a quarter of a second lead over Burger in the first heat, with Julia Simmchen sitting third, .41 back.
The second heat saw more dominance from Uhlaender, as she once again out-slid the medal contenders by over a half of a second to win by a combined .63 over Burger, with Simmchen third, .69 out of the lead.
The win was the third in three races for Uhlaender.
Sujung Hong had the quick start in both heats on her way to a fourth place finish, well ahead of Denmark’s Nanna Johansen in fifth. Aline Pelckmans of Belgium and Puerto Rico’s Kellie Delka rounded out the top six in a tie.
Canada’s Grace Dafoe concluded her career of over 90 international races with an eighth place finish.
Nicole Burger leads the North American Cup standings with one race to go, ahead of Sujung Hong and Liesel Baker. Kellie Delka and Laura Vargas round out the top five.
