(January 24, 2026) – Nick Gleeson and Jens Hullah slid to gold in the Europe Cup two-man season finale as they held off Latvia’s Renars Grantins and Nils Meijers.
Germany’s Laurin Zern and Erik Leypold led early in the first heat, but were eventually picked off by Gleeson and Hullah, who took the lead by just .07, with Grantins and Meijers only .13 back in third.
Grantins slid to the lead in the second heat ahead of Germany’s Tobias Dostthaler and Tobias Maul, and then held off Zern by just .07 to move into the silver medal position with Gleeson still to go.
Gleeson and Hullah set the quick start of the race in the second heat, and Gleeson led the whole way down on his way to a .08 victory over Grantins, with Zern third.
The win for Gleeson was his first in Europe Cup on the season. Silver for Grantins was a season high.
Dostthaler was fourth, Alexander Czudaj and Nino Vogel were fifth, with Brazil’s Edson Bindilatti and Luiz Bacca Goncalves in sixth.
Despite not racing in the season finale, Maxmilian Illmann took the season title by 20 points ahead of Laurin Zern. Hans Peter Hannighofer completed the German season podium sweep in third.
Nick Gleeson was fourth overall as the top non-German.
