Kammerlander Wins in Romania, Takes WC Lead

From Vatra Dornei, ROU

(Feb. 10, 2019) – Thomas Kammerlander took the gold medal in Romania, and in doing so moved to the season point lead with just one race to go in the season.

Kammerlander was the second quickest in both heats, but trouble for Michael Scheikl on his second run moved Kammerlander to the top of the podium, with his Austrian teammate finishing second, just .15 behind him.

Doubles champion Patrick Pigneter finished third, while Alex Gruber and Florian Glatzl finishing fifth and sixth.

Gruber’s fifth place finish dropped him out of the season point lead with just one race to go. He’ll go into the final race needing to simply beat Kammerlander to win the season title. If he does not, then the title is the Austrian’s.
