Pigneter & Clara Win 4th Straight in Deutschnofen

Jan. 25, 2020 – Patrick Pigneter & Florian Clara dominated the doubles race in Deutschnofen, cruising to a 1.11 second victory over the Russian team of Pavel Porshnev & Ivan Lazarev.

The Italian duo were the quickest in both heats on their way to their fourth gold medal of the 2019/2020 season.

Porshnev & Lazarev, the only other gold medal team of the season (WInterleiten), finished just .03 ahead of Patrick & Matthias Lambacher. Porshnev & Lazarev carried a .03 second lead into the second heat, then matched Lambacher & Lambacher’s time in the second run to hang onto second place, with the Italians in third.

Aleksandr Egorov & Petr Popov finished fourth, ahead of Stanislav Kovshik & Ilia Tarasov in fifth. The Polish team of Adam Jedrzejko & Konrad Stano rounded out the top six.

Pigneter & Clara left Deutschnofen 100 points ahead of Porshnev & Lazarev, and 115 points ahead of teammates Lambacher & Lambacher.
