FIBT World Cup – Round 6 – Women’s Skeleton

From St. Moritz, Switzerland

The second heat has been cancelled, and that makes Lizzy Yarnold the winner.  She’s the sixth different winner in six races, and the win is her first ever on the World Cup circuit.  Shelley Rudman makes a little bit of gains in the World Cup standings, finishing second and just ahead of Marion Thees, who finishes fourth.  Katharina Heinz gets bronze, while Anja Huber and Katharine Eustace tie for fifth.

Kimber Gabryszak takes home a season-best seventh place, leading all North Americans.  Katie Uhlaender finishes 13th and Anne O’Shea 18th for the USA, while Amy Gough paces the Canadian contingent with an 8th place finish.  Sarah Reid and Mellisa Hollingsworth tie for 16th.
