Kühtai World Cup Race Canceled Due to Warm Temperatures

From Kühtai, AUT

(Dec. 6, 2020) – It’s becoming all too familiar in winter sports: Races postponed or canceled due to warm temperatures and a lack of snow or ice. The first FIL Natural Track World Cup race of the season, scheduled fur Kühtai form December 11-13, has been canceled.

Unseasonably warm temperatures have led to next to no usable snow or ice for the Austrian course, which unlike many other Natural Track Luge courses is built out of snow and not on a set course.

Organizers are hoping to move the event to another location later in the season.

The next scheduled race, to be held in Winterleiten, will now be the season opener.
