From Sigulda, LAT
(Dec. 19, 2020) – Latvia’s Davis Kaufmanis set the fast time off the top and was the quickest at every split on his way to a .31 second victory over Switzerland’s Michael Kuonen.
Kaumanis, who made his first World Cup start earlier in the season, was just under .2 faster than Kuonen in each heat for the victory. Kuonen could only muster the fourth fastest time in the second heat but had enough in the bank to hold off Russia’s Maxim Andrianov for silver.
Andrianov finished third, only .03 ahead of Latvia’s Emils Cipulis, who finished a career best fourth.
Switzerland’s Marco Lorenzoni and Timo Rohner rounded out the top six.
