Daly Stays Perfect in Return

From Park City, USA

Jan. 28, 2021 – John Daly stayed perfect in his return from retirement, once again setting the fast time in both heats on his way to gold.

Daly opened up a half second on Ireland’s Brendan Doyle in the first heat. On the second run Doyle put down a strong run, edged only by Daly on his second trip down. The final margin of victory was .55.

Of Daly’s six competitive runs this week, he was the quickest in five of them.

Doyle finished second for his second straight silver medal in Park City.

Blake Enzie struggled to put two consecutive good runs together in the first two races of the North American Cup season, but put down to strong ones in the third race for a bronze medal finish. The bronze was his second NAC medal, after winning silver the prior season in Lake Placid.

The United States’ Chris Strup missed out on a medal by .07, finishing fourth. Israel’s Jared Firestone finished fifth, one spot ahead of Mike Rogals in sixth.

Joel Seligstein had the seventh fastest run in each heat on hi way to a seventh place finish. Kyler Sultemeier of the United States and Canadians Troy Wilson, Jordan Rwiyamilira, and David Park rounded out the eleven sled field.
