(November 28, 2021) – Frank Del Duca and his team won gold for the first time in the 2021/2022 North American Cup four-man bobsled season, edging out Canada’s Taylor Austin for the win.
Del Duca drove to a race-fastest time in the first heat, .11 ahead of Austin. On the second run both pilots set identical 48.44 downtimes to give Del Duca the win based on his first heat’s advantage.
Del Duca’s squad also had the fast push of the race.
The gold for Del Duca was his third in two days after winning a pair of gold medals as part of a two-man bobsled double header on Saturday.
Austin won silver, .15 ahead of the United States’ Tyler Hickey, who took bronze.
Youngjin Suk of Korea, Shanwayne Stephens of Jamaica, and Brazil’s Edson Bindilatti rounded out the top six.
