2015/2016 FIL Natural Track World Cup – Men’s Luge – Race 1

The first race of the FIL Natural Track men’s luge World Cup was run in bracket form, with one half of the double’s team who took gold on Saturday taking gold on Sunday.

Patrick Pigneter of Italy scored gold, edging Michael Scheikl of Austria in the final round in Kühtai, while Thomas Kammerlander beat Alex Gruber in the bronze medal race. Pigneter’s doubles teammate, Florian Clara, finished fifth, ahead of Austrian Florian Glatzl, making it an all Italy and Austria top six.

British sliders Samuel Budd and Dex Unwin finished 19th and 20th.
