Men’s Sprint World Cup

Much like in the World Cup race, it was an all German and Russian podium for the Sprint World Cup. Sprint World Champion Felix Loch made it look as easy as one can during Sprint World Cup. In a race where positions were separated by thousandths of a second, Loch won by .086 over Russian Stepan Fedorov. Loch’s teammate, World Cup winner Johannes Ludwig finished third, giving him the World Cup lead after one weekend.

Ralf Palik and Julian von Schleinitz finished fourth and fifth for Germany, while Wolfgang Kindl finished sixth for Austria. Chris Mazdzer replicated his World Cup finish with an 11th place effort for the United States.

Doubles Sprint World Cup

For almost the entirety of Eggert & Benecken’s run, it seemed as though teammates Wendl & Arlt had a gold medal in the bag. In the last sector of the run, though, Eggert & Benecken found the speed they needed to take gold from Wendl & Arlt. The team of Geueke & Gamm helped finish the German sweep of the podium, and complete a full German sweep of gold medals in Winterberg.

Americans Mortensen & Terdiman finished fourth, ahead of Sics & Sics and Denisyev & Antonov, who finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
